Guillermo del Toro’s PACIFIC RIM officially released!!

8798918277_2b874b9d96_o-1Finally the wait is over! PACIFIC RIM opened this weekend and already the well deserved great reviews and fan response for Guillermo del Toro’s giant monster epic are coming in! I was thrilled to have gotten to be part of the production, working for 11 months as part of Guillermo’s core concept team and later helping out with some storyboarding! And all these months later it was incredible seeing Guillermo’s unique world come to life on the screen, (including some of the film’s kaiju that I did concept for) live and breath through the amazing talent of ILM! Although I’ll admit I’m biased, but it’s an amazing film for monster fans and all around fun action movie for everyone! See it on IMAX if you can~ as close to kaiju size as you can get!!

ParaNorman concept sketches!

Halloween’s right around the corner~ perfect time for some zombies! I’ve been asked about the “special thanks” I was given in the credits to Laika’s wonderfulPARANORMAN film~ back in 2008 I worked with director Chris Butler on some early character concept based off the initial script. Mostly various zombie puritans and their “alive” versions, especially the Judge Zombie~ but also taking a pass at Norman himself and some poster designs. In the end they went with a different direction for the final look of the film, but it was great fun getting to try my hand at some of the undead characters! You can see a handful of the early character concept I did for ParaNorman over at the conceptual section!
